ROBIN and NATHALYN

"One heart, One mind, One soul"

Robin Renee Greenfield (~Nibor~), 18, was and still is the sweetest and most innocent person I have ever encountered in all my high school years. We were in the same Geometry class of Mrs. Santora, period 1/2. I didn't notice the dark-curly haired girl sitting behind me until one day the teacher announced that her and I had the highest average in the class. Of course, I didn't imagine that my rival in Geometry class could be such a big part of my life, even up until now when her and I are so far away. Robin and I also got close in Chemistry class with our most-favorite teacher, Mr. Gabriel. Lab was fun with her working across from me, burning her finger in the burner while heating up a test tube or her fear of her fingers being consumed by "harmless" chemicals. Gym class was the most hilarious of all when our friends decided to constantly tease us and of course, drag us across the gym. We got closer over the summer when I realized she had started to like my good friend, Roberto LaSet. Robin and I talked for 2 weeks straight that summer, planning out Berto's surprise party. After that, we hadn't talked much.

However, come junior year high school, Robin and I had AP Chemistry, and gym together and we passed by each other in the hallways often. We went from being "friends" to being the best of friends. Of course, we still worked together in Chemistry class with Robin still hurting her little fingers and with me practically drowning the Chemistry class. We talked on the phone for practically 3 hours each night either talking about Chemistry problems or about nothing at all. My family saw her almost every day, eating all the food and drinking up the water supply in Howell.

Nevertheless, senior year didn't end it all. Actually, this is the year when Robin and I were actually being called "Siamese twins". If we were inseparable junior year, we were more attached by the hips senior year. We shared Calculus AP, gym, and Probability and Statistics together. I also stopped by her homeroom almost every day. We did everything together from school to going home. This attached-by-the-hips impression was even seen by the health teacher when we insisted to be in the same health class. Furthermore, National Honor Society definitely brought us together with all the activities we shared together. Every member of NHS knew if Robin Greenfield was going to be in one event, a Nathalyn Co would certainly walk alongside her. Her white Pontiac Sunfire had my name imprinted in the passenger seat! (just kidding). It was also in this year that Robin and I hung out a lot, going to the movies, renting tapes, and going over each other's house. My house became her second home! And my family had wanted to adopt her already. Due to that, I consider Robin as my foster sister. Funny projects were also bringing us even closer. Work turned into play and before we even could stop and think, Robin and I found a wonderful and true friendship that we knew would last us forever. I could not imagine not having Robin by my side when she went off to college. But…I knew there is a bond between her and I that nothing, not distance nor time can ever break.

I remember all the promises we made to each other before leaving to go to each our own destination and I know she remembers it in her heart as well. Even though college changed her a bit as well as our friendship, Robin will always be part of my heart and part of my life. I know I'll always be a part of hers, too.
