"A promise to keep"

Jane Newsome, 18, and a college freshman of Ithaca University is a really close friend of mine since junior year. Pre-Calculus and Chemistry AP were more than a difficult class, it was also fun with her by my side. Being that we sat next to each other in Pre-Calculus, we passed little notes, funny or serious, to each other to pass our time. Of course, we never did learn a lot in that class but she made the class all worth it. Jane can be described as the most thoughtful and most considerate of my friends. She was funny and very caring. I confided in her about my problems and found one of the most understanding person ever. We shared similar experiences that year and with our inspiring friendship, we made a promise to each other that hopefully we will never break.

Senior year, Jane joined my lunch table and Qwana, Kristy, and I couldn't be happier. The four of us chatted happily, studied together, and acted crazy together. In the back of our minds, Jane and I knew that with each other, we can hold on to the promise we made. I've always had faith in Jane and I know I always will. She will succeed in life, fulfilling her dream to be a great musician. Though for only a short time, Jane definitely brought some of her music into my life….
